From The Heart of a Preacher…September 5, 2010 Your Inheritance
In God’s Word today His promise of future resurrection is affirmed not only for the prophet Daniel but for us. Although we will someday see God’s scripture fulfilled through Christ Jesus, we are not to spend the rest of our lives wondering what to do. Yes, we are to rest in the comfort of God’s sovereignty and look forward to the time when we will rise to receive and share eternal life with Him. While we are here on earth we are to be unremitting in our prayer, unrelenting in our principle and unrelieved in our praise wherever God desires to put us.
"As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance." Daniel 12:13
There is something so refreshing and optimistic about those words. They are free of problems and full of promise. They give us a glimpse of God’s plan for every age and they are a story of God’s purpose for His creation. My friends, God is in control of the time we will spend here upon this earth. In the end He will be victorious over evil. What God is asking you and me to do today is to make prayer, principle and praise for Him our true purpose in life. This will give our lives direction and harmony while displaying God’s power and purpose. Now Creekside, you have Your Inheritance so, just like Daniel did in his life, let’s begin in our lives today fulfilling God’s purpose for Creekside. AMEN!
Stephen H. Bryan,
The Pastor, to my good friend…how truly I love you! (III John 1-1)
